CNN —Pakistan on Tuesday strongly condemned an Iranian airstrike inside its borders that killed two children, calling it an “unprovoked violation of its airspace” and warning of retaliation. In a statement on Telegram, the militants said two small children were killed in the attack, while two women and a teenage girl were seriously injured. Last month, Iran accused Jaish al-Adl militants of storming a police station in the Iranian province of Sistan and Baluchistan, which resulted in the deaths of 11 Iranian police officers, according to Tasnim. Jaish al-Adl, or Army of Justice, is a separatist militant group that operates on both sides of the border and has previously claimed responsibility for attacks against Iranian targets. Iraqi Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein said there are no Mossad-affiliated centers operating in Erbil in the semi-autonomous Kurdistan region.

The company, owned by China-headquartered Bytedance, has been trying to address concerns over whether the Chinese government could access the data of European citizens who use TikTok. Several countries, the European Parliament, European Commission and others have banned TikTok from staff phones due to those concerns. TikTok in March launched a data security regime called Project Clover to build data centres and store European user data locally. The Norwegian data centre will be in the town of Hamar where TikTok will store data spread over three buildings and the first phase will start operating from next summer. The Norway data centre will run completely on renewable energy and generate heat that could be re-used.

In South Burlington, the school district leases the electric buses from Highland, which also supplies equipment to recharge them and pays the electricity bills. Those bills are lower than normal because of a deal that lets Green Mountain Power, the utility serving most of Vermont, draw power from the bus batteries when demand surges. They are part of a network that also includes batteries that homeowners install to provide backup power during blackouts. In total, Green Mountain Power has access to 50 megawatts of battery storage from school buses, home batteries and other sources, said Mari McClure, the utility’s chief executive. Over time, Ms. McClure said, enough electric school buses and home batteries may be connected to the grid to stop her utility from needing to buy electricity from out-of-state power plants.

Many people in Libya are calling what happened a tsunami, not a flood, to attempt to capture the physics and power of the devastation. For Libya it will be impossible, given the disaster zone’s sudden isolation, lack of equipment and depth of the country’s political dysfunction. But it’s the United States’ unique and tragic history in Libya, its technical expertise and depth of resources in the region, that create a moral obligation for America to step into this breach. Swollen by record-breaking rainfall, the Winooski River claimed nearly the entire downtown area of Montpelier late Monday. Legion nominated experts in water delivery, beverage operations, marketing and capital allocation as director candidates for election to the U.S.-Canadian company's 10-person board to help reverse "chronic underperformance," according to a letter seen by Reuters. "Substantial shareholder-driven change in the boardroom is long overdue and necessary at the 2023 Annual Meeting in order for Primo to achieve its full potential," Legion's managing directors, Chris Kiper and Ted White, wrote to fellow Primo Water shareholders. Keurig Dr Pepper Inc. hired a new executive to lead its finances after it promoted its former chief financial officer to the role of chief executive. In his new role, Mr. Priyadarshi will oversee Keurig Dr Pepper’s finance and information technology divisions. Keurig Dr Pepper is scheduled to report quarterly results on Thursday. Keurig Dr Pepper has said that acquisitions are a top priority for capital allocation. Keurig Dr Pepper Monday said Mr. Priyadarshi wasn’t available for an interview and declined to comment beyond its release.

Michael Dell's family office is merging with merchant bank BDT to form a new investment and advisory firm. Back in 2008, when he was still working at Goldman Sachs, Trott was publicly praised by Warren Buffett, whose distaste for M&A bankers — and Goldman Sachs — is notorious on Wall Street. "Byron is the rare investment banker who puts himself in his client's shoes," Buffett said in a letter to investors. The combination, the companies said on Thursday, "will create the preeminent advisory and investment firm serving the distinct needs of family- and founder-led business owners and strategic, long-term investors." That's good news for residents of several states, according to a new U.S. News and World Report analysis, which ranked all 50 states according to how polluted they are and the risk that pollution poses to their population's health. That ranking is consistent with other 2022 analyses: The American Lung Association (ALA) says Vermont's cities are among the cleanest by air quality in the country, and have low levels of the most harmful and widespread types of air pollution. The state's Burlington-South metro area in particular is one of only two U.S. cities that rank as the cleanest for the worst types of air pollution, which include particle pollution and ozone air pollution. In 2022, the ALA said the state's air quality got "mixed grades." Several pieces of research point to the state's poor air quality.
